Sarah Michelle Gellar is the gift that keeps on giving. 22 years after putting down her wooden stake at the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 7’s finale, which aired on May 20, 2003, she is almost back to Sunnydale.
Earlier this year, Gellar revealed she is making her return to Buffy, despite years of refusing to do so. She found the best way to bring the story back with her new partners — Nora and Lilla Zuckerman as the writers and showrunners, and Chloé Zhao as director. In a new photo on Instagram, Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series is in pre-production.

Sarah is teaming up with Thumbtack this Halloween.
If you’re hearing more creaks and strange noises in your home this Halloween season, don’t despair—Thumbtack, the home services website, has teamed up with Buffy the Vampire herself to help you solve your home maintenance issues.
The Haunted Homes Hotline, in partnership with actress and producer Sarah Michelle Gellar, launches October 24.
Homeowners can call the hotline between then and October 31, from 9am to 6pm EST, and have their home questions answered by a team of experts. The experts can tell them whether it’s actually something paranormal—or, more likely, that is isn’t and what they can do to fix it.
